Peter Goodger
Chairman
Peter Goodger brings more than 40 years' experience in the construction and architectural design industry, alongside extensive governance experience across local organisations. As Chair, he provides strategic leadership with a strong focus on sound governance, informed decision-making and open communication.

Paul Gray
Director
Paul Gray is a commercial, property and estate lawyer with extensive legal experience and a strong background in governance. A partner at Smith, Wood & Woods, he has served on the Southland District Law Society Council, including as President, and has been a Director of Gore Health since 2016. His legal expertise and governance experience support the organisation's strategic direction and long-term sustainability.

Glenys Dickson
Director
Glenys Dickson brings extensive experience in business, local government and community governance. Having served on the Gore Health Board since 2015, she combines a strong understanding of strategic leadership with a long-standing commitment to public service through a number of regional trusts, boards and community organisations. Her passion for community wellbeing and accessible healthcare continues to support Gore Health's vision for the region.
Glenys Dickson brings extensive experience in business, local government and community governance. Having served on the Gore Health Board since 2015, she combines a strong understanding of strategic leadership with a long-standing commitment to public service through a number of regional trusts, boards and community organisations. Her passion for community wellbeing and accessible healthcare continues to support Gore Health's vision for the region.
Ceri Macleod
Director
Ceri Macleod brings extensive experience in community and economic development, strategic planning and regional leadership. As Community and Economic Development Manager at Gore District Council, she plays an important role in supporting economic growth, strengthening local partnerships and helping shape the future of the district. Her strategic perspective and commitment to strong, sustainable communities make her a valued member of the Gore Health Board.
Ceri Macleod brings extensive experience in community and economic development, strategic planning and regional leadership. As Community and Economic Development Manager at Gore District Council, she plays an important role in supporting economic growth, strengthening local partnerships and helping shape the future of the district. Will Byars
Director
Will Byars brings a diverse background in agriculture, banking, education and community governance. With experience in rural business, financial services and secondary education, he offers a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing rural communities.
A strong advocate for accessible rural healthcare, Will has served as Chair of the West Otago Health Trust since 2020 and joined the Gore Health Board in 2025. His governance experience, strategic perspective and commitment to strengthening local health services make him a valuable contributor to Gore Health's ongoing success and service to the wider community.

Bobbi Brown brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic leadership, regional development and operational management. As General Manager – Regional Strategy at Great South, she has led major regional planning initiatives in partnership with government, iwi, businesses and communities, helping shape the long-term future of Southland.
Born and raised in Gore, Bobbi combines extensive leadership experience with a strong understanding of rural communities and regional economic development. Her strategic insight, governance experience and commitment to sustainable growth provide valuable support to Gore Health's vision of delivering innovative, community-focused healthcare for the region.
Bobbi Brown brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic leadership, regional development and operational management. Karl Metzler

Karl Metzler is passionate about delivering innovative, patient-centred healthcare that strengthens the wellbeing of the Hokonui community. As Chief Executive Officer of Gore Health, he leads a diverse range of hospital, primary care and community health services, supporting a dedicated team of almost 160 staff committed to providing exceptional care close to home.
With a professional background in clinical psychology and business management, Karl combines clinical insight with strategic leadership to continually evolve healthcare delivery in a rural setting. His forward-thinking approach has positioned Gore Health at the forefront of innovation, championing initiatives including digital healthcare technologies, workforce development, paperless clinical systems, virtual health services and new models of care that improve access for rural communities.
Throughout his leadership, Karl has remained committed to developing sustainable healthcare services that meet the changing needs of the region while investing in the people who deliver them. His contribution to healthcare extends beyond Gore Health, including his leadership of the Southern Region's COVID-19 vaccination rollout and ongoing collaboration with Health New Zealand on regional health initiatives.

Administration Manager
Fiona Marsh has been a valued member of the Gore Health team since 2011 and plays a pivotal role in the organisation's day-to-day operations. As Administration Manager, she oversees a broad range of administrative functions that help ensure Gore Health continues to deliver efficient, responsive and patient-focused healthcare services.
With a strong passion for information technology and continuous improvement, Fiona has led the implementation of a fully paperless healthcare environment, helping modernise clinical and administrative systems across the organisation. Her forward-thinking approach has supported greater efficiency, improved communication and enhanced patient care throughout Gore Health.
Fiona's extensive organisational knowledge, commitment to innovation and collaborative leadership make her an integral part of Gore Health's ongoing success and continued delivery of high-quality healthcare to the community.

Glenda Maxwell has been providing compassionate healthcare to Southland communities since qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1989. As Clinical Manager, she leads Gore Health's Nursing, Allied Health and Maternity teams, ensuring patients receive safe, high-quality and coordinated care throughout every stage of their healthcare journey.
With more than three decades of clinical experience, Glenda brings extensive expertise in healthcare quality, clinical governance and patient safety. Holding an Advanced Auditing Skills qualification, she has played an active role in Health and Disability Services Standard Certification since 2000, helping maintain the high standards of care Gore Health is known for.
In addition to leading clinical services, Glenda oversees Infection Prevention and Control, Occupational Health and Safety, and Family Violence initiatives, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to continually improve patient outcomes and support a culture of clinical excellence across the organisation.

Business Manager
Rhonda Reid brings extensive financial, governance and business management experience to Gore Health. A Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, she worked in public accounting across Gore and Invercargill before serving as Chair of the Gore Health Board of Directors from 2004 to 2009. She joined Gore Health as Business Manager in 2009.
Rhonda is responsible for overseeing the organisation's financial and business operations, while also managing the Gore Health General Practice, Dental Clinic and MoleMap franchise. Her commercial expertise and strategic approach have helped support the continued growth of healthcare services available to the local community.
